Description: Virtues in Action: New Essays in Applied Virtue Ethics
(Palgrave Macmillan) is a collection of 12 new essays connecting what is broadly construed as a virtue ethical approach with issues in applied ethics including the family, sport, intellectual virtues, the environment, sex, business, education, pacifism/war, and abortion. It includes work by established as well as emerging scholars. I’m very happy with the results, and if you get a chance to look it over and have any feedback, it is welcome. It is intended not just for philosophers, but also other scholars with an interest in virtue and character. I plan on using it in some of my courses, as appropriate, given its overall accessibility.
