Barry Stroud distinguishes between those he calls scientific and theistic externalists. Is this a useful distinction? If its not merely caracature, but describes a real division in the field, then what are the commonalities and differences you find between their outlooks? Do either of these characters leave sufficient space for a study of the reflective or acquired intellectual virtues?
